Greetings from Canada

Greeting from Metropolitan of Toronto Moses

The Nine Martyrs of Cyzicus

April 29/May 12, 2017

To Your Eminences Andronik and Stefan, the respected clergy and pious faithful,

Христос воскресе!

I wish to offer you my humble and heartfelt greetings of love and respect.

In this age of indifference to the truth wherein the many have chosen the broad path of surrender to the Pan-Heresy of Ecumenism you have striven to maintain the legacy of Saint Philaret, Metropolitan of New York. This means more than we can express to those of us in the GOC in North America. Saint Philaret was a Great Confessor for our age and the Church in Greece is very much aware of how much we owe him.

The narrow path has its struggles and difficulties, but the life in Christ has always been the way of the Cross. For a season now you are experiencing temptations of an administrative nature. As a bishop of the Holy Synod of Archbishop Kallinikos let me assure you all that our instructions from our Holy Synod in Greece was that we are in full communion with you all, but presently, so as not to take sides, we are prohibited from concelebrating with the bishops and clergy of your Church. Once again, we are not taking one side over the other. You administrative difficulties are internal affairs of the Russian Church for you all to work out amongst yourselves. In the not too distant past, the Church in Greece had its difficulties also, but thanks to God, we have unity amongst the great majority of Bishops, clergy and faithful in Greece. I hope and pray that all of your difficulties are resolved soon.

May our Lord Jesus Christ give you all patience, peace, strength and the joy that comes
from hoping in Him.

In Christ,

+Moses, [Metropolitan] of Toronto

Greeting from the Parish of Blessed Xenia of Petersburg, Ottawa

Dear Most Reverend Archpastors, brothers and sisters!

We cordially congratulate you on today’s celebration of Orthodoxy and on the visible witness to the truth of the words of the Prophet: “Behold now, what is so good or so beautiful, as for brethren to dwell together in unity” (Psalm 132:1). Thank you that, in our difficult times, you were able to rise above mutual suspicion and offense and see each other as brothers and fellow servants in Christ, who are separated only by the human condition and the waves of the sea of life that rage against us. We hope that our unification will be the first step in the path of the recognition of like-minded people among the until now fragmented splinters of the historical ROCA and will be the focus for the drawing together of all the healthy church forces of the Russian Diaspora. Asking for the holy prayers of our Most Reverend Archpastors, we also ask God for the gift of wisdom and spiritual strength to rightly expound the word of Truth* and to direct the ship of the Church safely into the harbor of eternal salvation in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The Church Council and parishioners of Bl. Xenia of Petersburg in Ottawa, Canada.
