Christmas Tradition at the Church of the Cathedral of the Holy Assumption in Trenton, NJ

On January 14, 2018, Bishop Stefan of Trenton and North America and the parish of his diocesan see, the Church of the Cathedral of the Holy Assumption in Trenton, NJ, participated in a joyful tradition. Every year on the first Sunday after Christmas, Protopriest Serge Klestov and the parish of the Church of the Holy Assumption in Richmond Hill, NY, travel to Trenton to visit their ruling bishop and to commune with their fellow parishioners.

Bishop Stefan celebrated the Divine Liturgy at which he was co-served by Fr. Serge and by Hieromonk Joseph (Chetkovskiy). After the Liturgy, Bishop Stefan served a moleben to mark the New Year.

At the conclusion of the services, the clergy and parishioners were feted with a sumptuous luncheon organized by the cathedral’s sisterhood. During the repast all who attended were regaled by Christmas carols sung by a group of singers consisting in large measure of Fr. Serge’s children.
