Decree of Archbishop Andronik

“The righteous perishes,

And no man lays it to heart:

And merciful men are taken away, none considering

That the righteous is taken away from the evil to come”.

 (Isaiah 57:1)

This year marks the 25th year from the day of the cruel martyred death of Brother Joseph Munoz-Cortes. Our Church is engaged in work that will lead to the glorification of Brother Joseph into the ranks of Saints. The Commission for canonization was established so as to commence work on the collection of first-hand witness account of Brother Joseph.  These will include recollections of him and evidence of miracles and posthumous appearances. It is essential for all our God-loving children of our Church to intensify their prayers for the repose of his soul, and I extend my blessing to the pastors of our diocese to conduct Panikhidas for Brother Joseph more frequently, ending them with the additional words   “…and by his prayers, [Christ] will have mercy on us and save us, for He is good and the lover of mankind”.

For those who wish to share their recollections about Brother Joseph, please forward them by E-mail to: canonizationcommission@gmail.com
