We can no longer reconcile ourselves with the situation that has developed in our Church. Owing to his selection of certain people, Metropolitan Agafangel is now in the position that any of his decisions are approved unopposed by a majority of bishops obedient to him. The Synod serves only to approve the Metropolitan’s decisions. Such a situation, though seemingly lawful, is in essence anti-canonical. Metropolitan Agafangel is violating the sobornost of the Church, placing it under his personal control. The Metropolitan is not the Pope of Rome; the Metropolitan is the first among equal bishops. He does not have the right to be in command of the dioceses of other bishops.

If the Metropolitan Agafangel does not preach heresy, you do not have the right to separate yourself from him.09-07-2016read more
The 14th canon of the First-Second Council of Constantinople states: "If any Bishop, on the basis of charges against his own Metropolitan, shall secede or apostatize from him before a conciliar verdict has been issued, and shall abstain from communion with him, and fail to mention his name, in accordance with established custom, in the course of the liturgical celebration of the Eucharistic mystery, the Holy Council has decreed that he shall be deposed from office..." This rule thus prohibits bishops from ceasing to commemorate a Metropolitan accused of any sin before he is adjudged by a Council. The subsequent 15th rule, however, provides us with the single exception: "when he publicly preaches heresy." In this case, subordinate clerics are required to break communion with the heretic.
