Lenten Retreat of the clergy of the Syracuse and St. Nicholas Diocese
A Lenten Retreat of the clergy of the Syracuse and St. Nicholas diocese was held on Wednesday, March 9/22, 2017, during the week of the Adoration of the Cross of Great Lent at the Church of the Holy New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia in the religious center of Mountain View (NY).
Archbishop Andronik officiated at the Divine Liturgy along with three priests, a hierodeacon and and subdeacon. All completed the rite of confession and communed of Christ’s Mysteries at a Liturgy of the Pre-sanctified Gifts.
Abp. Andronik offered a homily at the trapeza on the need for the clergy to gather together during these difficult times for the Church Abroad. “There are now so few of us, that we do not have the right to neglect serving together,” said Abp. Andronik.
The pastors discussed the pressing issues at their parishes. The lively talks were held informally and everyone gained spiritual nourishment and satisfaction. The ruling bishop’s schedule of visits to the parishes was also decided upon at the retreat.
Unfortunately, not all the clergy was able to attend for various reasons and partake of this gathering marked by brotherly love and fellowship, but they were remembered in the service by all present.
