Invitation to the Lesna Monastery’s Anniversary
The Lesna Monastery of the Most Holy Mother of God
Invites everyone to join in our traditional annual feast day in honor of our miracle-working icon of the Most Holy Mother of God of Lesna over the weekend of October 4-6, 2025.
This year we are celebrating several important anniversaries:
140 years of the foundation of the monastery
100 years since the repose of our founder, St. Catherine of Lesna
75 years since the monastery arrived in France
4/10– 17:00: Vigil, 1st hour
5/10– 9:00: Blessing of the water
10:00: meeting of the Bishop, Hours, Divine
Liturgy, moleben and procession, festive
meal, the rite of the Panagia
After lunch everyone is invited for tea, coffee and dessert at our traditional bazaar, featuring monastic handicrafts, baked goods, our various pickles and jams, the “impossible-to-lose” raffle, and games for children .
18:00: 9th Hour, Vespers and Akathist to the Most Holy Mother of God.
6/10– 8:00: Matins, 1st Hour
10:30: Brunch
11:30: Conference in honor of the 100th anniversary of the repose of st. Catherine of Lesna:
- Mother Catherine of Lesna and St. Patriarch Tikhon of Moscow (Svetlana Vais)
- Mother Catherine and the Restoration of the female Diaconate in the Russian Church (Abbess Evfrosinia)
