The Funeral of Archbishop Andronik

On June 28, 2026, the funeral service for the newly departed Archbishop Andronik of New York and North America was held at the Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh at the Tolstoy Foundation. His Grace Bishop Andrei presided over the funeral service—conducted according to the monastic rite—in the presence of numerous clergy. Earlier that same day, Bishop Andrei had presided over the Divine Liturgy. During the solemn service, Bishop Andrei tonsured Theophan as a reader,

ordained Subdeacon Nathanael as a deacon, and ordained Deacon Gregory as a priest.

Bishop Andrei delivered a eulogy, which was subsequently read in English by Subdeacon Simeon from Australia, Bishop Andronik’s godson. During the memorial luncheon, a message from His Grace Sophrony, Archbishop of St. Petersburg and Northern Russia, was read aloud in both Russian and English.

After parting with Vladika for the last time,  Bishop Andronik was taken to the Church of the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia at the Orthodox Spiritual Center in Mountain View. On June 29, a solemn memorial service was held, followed by Bishop Andronik’s burial at the St. Nicholas Cemetery, located at the church grounds.

Spiritual children from all over the world gathered to bid farewell to their beloved Vladyka. Among them were monastics and laypeople, young and old, as well as his relatives—all those to whom he was dear, and for whom he had been a helper and counselor on the path to salvation.

At the memorial luncheon, Abbot Ignatiy, Protopresbyter Father Gregory, Protopriest Father Dmitry, Hieromonk Vasily, Priest Chad, Director of the Orthodox Spiritual Center Georgy Lukin, and others spoke warmly about Vladyka.

Eternal memory to our dear Vladyka!
