Patronal Feast at the Church of the Resurrection of Christ in Toronto

The church in Toronto is named in honor of the greatest Christian feast—the Resurrection of the Lord. Its patronal feast day is Bright Pascha (Easter Sunday). However, by tradition, the parish celebrates this feast one week later—on Antipascha (Thomas Sunday).

This year, the festive celebration took place on April 27. His Grace Andronik, Archbishop of Canada and Ottawa, visited the church on this day. On this day, a festive Divine Liturgy was celebrated with a hierarchical rite, during which His Grace tonsured parishioner Ioann (John) as a reader and then as a subdeacon.

Following the service, the sisterhood organized a festive meal. The visit of the archbishop always brings spiritual joy to the whole community. This year, the celebration was made even more special by dear guests from the USA — parishioners of St. Sergius of Radonezh Church in Valley Cottage, New York.
